Leyse Asparagus Steamer

In general I'm opposed to single purpose batterie de cuisine. I'm not a food snob and I think a lot of single purpose kitchen wear/gadgets are on the market solely to make money.

But, I will admit that I have wanted one of the Leyse Asparagus Steamers, since I first learned of them, about 40 years ago. They were pricey then and now, that the company was purchased by Vollrath, they are no longer made.

Below, the recipe Donn's Delight calls for a teaspoon of grated onion and I would substitute onion juice. Mince the onion and using a wooden spoon, obtain the liquid. Discard the pulp.
